Pray for the peace of Jerusalem! “May they be secure who love you! -Psalm 122:6 ESV
Jerusalem Day is an Israeli national holiday commemorating the reunification of Jerusalem and the establishment of Israeli control over the Old City in the aftermath of the June 1967 Six-Day War. The day is officially marked by state ceremonies and memorial services.

We are commanded to pray for the Peace of Jerusalem. However, very few believers in Jesus (Yeshua), our Jewish savior obey this critical commandment. In this very hour, the celebration of Jerusalem Day falls during Ramadan, hence there is rioting in Jerusalem by Palestinians against Israelis involving land disputes. The double holidays increased the intensity of the dispute. Hamas, a Palestinian terrorist group is firing missiles at Jerusalem causing many Jewish residents to scurry into bomb shelters. Tourists need not fret as the Israeli Government protects its sensitive sites, including biblical sites with an iron dome that destroys the rockets in the air.
This scenario is often repeated as the billions of Arabs surrounding Israel harbor hatred of God’s Chosen People and land.
This is why we as believers in Yeshua, should PRAY regularly for the peace of Jerusalem. God’s promise, if you do pray, is that you will prosper!
Shalom Aleichem and Happy Jerusalem Day,
