Retired, Relocated, and Refocused – Dr. Raleigh Washington 2018 Update

Greetings from the Sunshine state! I have retired, relocated and rekindled God’s ministry to His chosen people!

Retired
At the beginning of this year, I retired from my position as President and CEO of Promise Keepers. I spoke for PK in 1993; joined the PK Board of Directors in 1994; became the Vice President for Reconciliation in 1996; President in 2008; and I am blessed to be a PK Board Director now. The new Chairman, Ken Harrison, has a powerful vision for a PK relaunch in 2020, which I am excited to be a part of.

Relocated
Recently, I felt called to and moved to Jacksonville, Florida—the place of my birth. I am blessed to have my three daughters and a host of relatives near me in Florida. My younger brother also has a thriving church in Jacksonville. However, the move has been bitter-sweet as I cannot be there for my best friend, Coach Bill McCartney, during a difficult season in his life—he currently is battling Alzheimer’s disease. Coach says, “Raleigh, you have abandoned me.” I am seeking resources to visit him once a month, and he was happy to hear that news. Please keep Coach in your thoughts and prayers.

Refocused
Although I have stepped away from PK, I have not retired from active ministry. The Road to Jerusalem ministry which was originally launched by Coach McCartney and me has moved from Denver to Jacksonville with me. I serve as President and CEO for TRTJ. The emphasis of the ministry was and is the reconciliation of Jewish and non-Jewish believers in one Messiah. Jesus prayed in John 17 for oneness between Jewish and Gentile believers. Paul tells us in Ephesians 2 that a second critical reason for Jesus’s sacrifice was to destroy the dividing wall of hostility between Jewish and Gentile believers, resulting in the “One New Man.” The single operative word for all of this is “relationship.” If Jesus prayed for and died for relationship between Jewish and Gentile believers, oneness must be a goal for all believers.

We have plans to take Pastors to Jerusalem in Spring 2019. Why? Jesus said in Matthew 23 that His Jewish brethren would not see him again until they say, “Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord.” They will not say that until they recognize and embrace Him as their Messiah. The message is clear: Jesus (Yeshua) will not return until Israel is saved. The challenge is that only c. 35,000 of the 6 million plus Jews in Israel believe that Yeshua is the Messiah—only a fraction of 1%. Prophecy in Zechariah 13 reveals that one-third of Jewish people will embrace Yeshua—that’s a long way from 1%.

This is why we are sponsoring Pastors to come with us to Israel—for the primary purpose of establishing a lifelong “relationship” with a Messianic Jewish Pastor in Israel. We want to see “hundreds” of Gentile Pastors in committed relationships with Messianic Jewish Pastors in Israel and working together for “all Israel” to be saved (Romans 11). I believe these tours will hasten the return of our Lord!

Response
The cost to sponsor one pastor is three thousand dollars. To date, we have sponsored 150 pastors. Our goal is hundreds more in segments of 50-100 each year. Will you pray and seek God’s leading for a generous contribution to the ministry of The Road to Jerusalem? This will allow us to sponsor a Gentile Pastor to become a lifelong supportive partner with a Messianic Jewish Pastor for the Restoration of Israel! Your gift will contribute directly to the Salvation of Israel! To donate click here.

You will also find two short testimonial videos below of Pastors who went to Israel with us in 2014 and 2016 while the ministry operated as One Message under PK’s covering. Please take a minute to hear how their lives and ministries were impacted by receiving sponsorship.

Thank you for your prayers, encouragement and support. We are grateful for you and your partnership.

Shalom Aleichem,
-Dr. Raleigh B. Washington.
